Job summary

Flagger Force is seeking an Area Supervisor to coach field personnel, oversee pre-construction planning, and ensure safety and quality across a designated area. You will manage a team of outside staff, conduct performance reviews, and maintain client relationships, including State DOT and local municipalities.

Daily travel to job sites is required as you report metrics to the Field Manager, participate in meetings, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Must pass Work Zone Leadership course with 80% or higher.
• Maintain valid internal training certifications through Flagger Force Academy.
• Must hold all required Department of Transportation qualifications for assigned territory.
• Valid driver's license in accordance with Flagger Force motor vehicle record standards.
• Strong verbal, written, analytical, reasoning, and problem‑solving skills.
• Developed leadership skills including conflict resolution, and ability to coach and train people and teams.
• Ability to positively influence people and situations in a fast‑paced environment and build trust and support optimal outcomes.
• Ability to adapt quickly and manage time effectively.
• Ability to manage high stress scenarios and environments.
• Proficient computer literacy; experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
• Steel toed boots or the ability to obtain prior to employment

Responsibilities

• Coaches field personnel performance through site observations and reporting.
• Oversees pre-construction planning and client relations with DOT and local municipalities.
• Manages a team of outside field personnel and directs work to others.
• Conducts annual performance reviews and supports employee development.
• Travels daily to job site locations to observe and report metrics.
• Maintains safety and quality standards in line with company values.
• Supports fleet telematics and driver coaching.
• Represents the organization professionally to clients and staff.
• Procures HR actions and disciplinary delivery per guidelines.
• Participates in department meetings and safety investigations as needed.
