Job summary

Fessler & Bowman, Inc. is seeking a Superintendent to oversee concrete activities at local job sites and to supervise field personnel, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, safety compliance, and effective communication with owners and internal teams. Travel to various job sites is required, with a focus on delivering high-quality, cost-efficient results.

Qualifications

• At least five (5) years in concrete or heavy civil construction.
• Creative and results-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency and self-motivation.
• Excellent computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely in a positive manner with team members.

Responsibilities

• Supervising all aspects of the job site, including safety and quality standards.
• Communicate with owners and owner’s representatives on a consistent basis.
• Resolve conflicts and disputes to minimize delays and claims.
• Instruct field staff on the processes, policies, and procedures essential to the project.
• Plan and supervise the field activities, such as the method of construction, manpower, material quantities, equipment and schedules.
• Working closely with office staff on necessary production rates, construction methods, and schedules.
• Participating in Level 10 meetings with local office staff.
• Continually expanding knowledge and use of industry best practices and innovation.
• Solving problems, as they arise, by using available knowledge and resources.
• Understand and apply the Company’s labor relations policies.
• Communicating and upholding the Company’s commitment to Integrity and Code of Ethics, as well as ensuring the same for the entire team.
• Other duties as assigned
