Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer for field operations and office support in the South Central District. You will assist in interpreting drawings, perform quantity takeoffs, and help develop work plans across heavy civil transportation projects in Texas and nearby states.

You will gain exposure to district estimating, bid reviews, and on-site supervision while relocating as needed to project sites. A strong work ethic, safety mindset, and valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel and relocate as projects vary nationwide
• Degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field
• Infrastructure/heavy civil project experience preferred
• Ability to access all points of a construction site in varied climates and environments
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and ethical work practices
• Valid driver’s license is required

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpreting drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision
• Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining completed work
• Assist in the preparation of work plans, surveys, and data collection
• Assist in field surveying and layout support including elevation and control points
• Assist in maintaining daily reports, RFIs, and cost tracking
• Participate in jobsite safety reviews and toolbox talks
• Coordinate material deliveries and supervise field operations
• Support in estimating inputs and bid-related tasks
