Job summary

Kiewit’s South Central District seeks an entry-level Field Engineer to support field and office operations on transportation infrastructure projects. You will assist with drawings interpretation, quantity takeoffs, and field surveys, while supporting safety reviews and daily reporting.

Located in the South Central region, you may relocate as projects arise and gain exposure to cost estimating, bidding, and project management. A valid driver’s license is required and travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Associates, undergraduate, or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• Willingness to travel and relocate to small and large cities as business requires as we operate on a national scale.
• Infrastructure/Heavy Civil project experience is preferred.
• Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in a wide-ranging climates and environments.
• Strong work ethic and safety focus are essential.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and supervision.
• Perform quantity calculations from measurements and progress.
• Assist in preparing work plans and work packages.
• Support field surveying and layout including elevations and control points.
• Maintain daily labor timesheets and project records.
• Prepare Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and safety reviews.
• Coordinate material deliveries and scheduling on site.
• Assist in cost data entry and change order generation.
• Support office engineering with data collection and submittals.
