Job summary

Gallagher Bassett is seeking a Medical Case Manager to provide specialized management of workers' compensation medical care. The role covers East Lansing, MI with travel within a 2-hour radius, engaging with injured workers and medical providers to return employees to work.

The position requires RN licensure, 3+ years of clinical experience, and strong communication and organizational skills. Travel and in-person visits are required as part of telephonic and field case management.

Qualifications

• Degree from applicable program and a minimum of 3 years clinical experience in an acute care setting required.
• Active Registered Nursing license or equivalent within the state of practice or states in which CM is performed.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate medical evaluation and treatment.
• Meet with physician and injured worker to discuss treatment plan and return-to-work goals.
• Keep employer and referral source updated on medical treatment and work status.
• Coordinate ancillary services (home health, DME, physical therapy) and discuss job requirements for modified or alternate employment.
• Discuss and evaluate treatment plan results with physician and injured worker using Evidence Based Guidelines.
• Document case management observations, assessment, and plan.
• Generate reports and ongoing correspondence to referral sources, employer, providers, and workers.
• May participate in telephonic case conferences.
• Maintain a minimum caseload of 35 files and 150 monthly billable hours with 95% quality compliance.
