Job summary

Connectivity Point is seeking a skilled Technician to support our Maine contract, installing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure across state offices. The role emphasizes problem solving, independent work, and strong customer service while collaborating with project managers and engineers.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in networking/IT, solid knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, wireless systems, and hands-on experience with switches, routers, and firewalls.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of related networking, IT, telecommunications, or technical experience.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, routing, switching, and wireless networking.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting network switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network connectivity and performance issues.
• Experience with network testing and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to read and understand network diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of structured cabling and low-voltage systems preferred.
• Familiarity with fiber optic and copper network infrastructure preferred.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools preferred.
• Industry certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain network infrastructure and related equipment.
• Support switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, and other network hardware.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity, performance, and hardware/software issues and identify root causes.
• Perform network testing, diagnostics, and system validation to ensure reliable network performance.
• Assist with the design and implementation of network solutions based on customer requirements.
• Support network upgrades, expansions, and system migrations.
• Read and interpret network diagrams, floor plans, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Document network configurations, testing results, equipment information, and completed work.
• Work with project management and field installation teams to coordinate network installations and ensure projects are completed successfully.
• Provide technical support and guidance to field technicians and customers as needed.
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving customer issues both remotely and on-site.
• Maintain awareness of current networking technologies, products, and industry best practices.
• Follow established company safety, quality, installation, and documentation standards.
• Travel to customer locations as required, including occasional overnight travel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
