Job summary

Vivant is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to support customers across the Dallas‑Fort Worth area. You will install, service, and troubleshoot networking equipment at customer sites, including routers, switches, wireless access points, PoE devices, and IP cameras.

You will inspect hardware, diagnose issues, and collaborate with remote support when changes are needed. The role emphasizes networking over cable installation, with occasional low-voltage tasks.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in field service, on-site technical support, or installation of networking equipment at customer locations.
• Hands-on experience installing, servicing, inspecting, and troubleshooting routers, switches, and access points.
• Practical understanding of Ethernet, IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, and PoE.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and troubleshoot networking equipment at customer sites.
• Inspect equipment and connections and identify hardware or connectivity issues.
• Escalate to remote support or ISP when configuration changes are required.
• Document issues and resolutions and ensure on-site equipment works before leaving.
