Job summary

FirstLight Field Operations Technicians deploy, maintain, and repair backbone network components and customer premises equipment across NY/PA. You will work with carriers on service delivery, perform diagnostics, test equipment, and ensure timely turn-up of Internet, hosted services, and telephony solutions.

The role requires site surveys, MOP preparation, and coordination with operations teams. A valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are essential; on-call duties apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 1–3 years relevant experience in voice/data services.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record; OSHA familiarity.
• Ability to pass drug and criminal background checks for carrier access cards.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, maintain, and repair backbone network components and field equipment.
• Assist with installation, test, turn-up, and maintenance of FirstLight services.
• Perform site surveys, create MOPs and installation diagrams.
• On-call coverage and essential personnel duties in emergencies.
