Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a talented Specialty Technician II to join our Mobile team. The role focuses on destructive and non-destructive testing, inspections, and observation on construction materials projects with increasing independence.

The successful candidate will work on moderate complexity projects, apply specialized testing methods like GPR, and contribute to project documentation and reporting. Mentoring junior staff is part of the role.

Qualifications

• 3 years of related experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Maintain two specialty certifications and obtain one additional specialty certification (e.g., AWS CWI or Ultrasound Level II).
• General OSHA 10 may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs destructive and non-destructive testing of construction materials.
• Conducts inspections including structural steel, reinforcing steel, welds, and connections.
• Performs advanced testing activities such as GPR, material verification, and corrosion surveys.
• Documents field observations, inspections, and testing results per engineering standards.
• Mentors Specialty Technician I and other junior technicians.
