Job summary

ECS Limited in Frederick, MD invites you to join as a Specialty Technician I to perform field-based destructive and non-destructive testing, inspection, and observation in support of specialty construction materials testing projects. Qualifications

• 2 years of related experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Obtain two specialty certifications applicable to the work performed as per policy.
• General industry OSHA 10 may be required.
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS or subsidiaries.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
• Basic math and data documentation skills.
• Ability to interpret plans and instructions.
• Proficiency with field reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs destructive and non-destructive testing on construction materials.
• Inspections of structural steel, reinforcing steel, and connections (welded and bolted).
• Field observations and inspections and collects samples for testing.
• Documents findings in accordance with engineering and inspection standards.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports changes in site conditions and additional testing needs.
• Performs inspections in fabrication facilities when required.
• Prepares and submits daily field reports and documentation.
• Performs basic calculations and data reduction tasks.
• Maintains and organizes field testing equipment.
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment.
• Attends project meetings as requested.
• Performs other specialty testing and inspection duties as assigned.
