Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a Specialty Technician I to join our ECS Limited team in Chesapeake, VA, performing field-based destructive and non-destructive testing, inspections, and observations on specialty construction materials projects. This role focuses on structural steel inspections, welding observations, and non-destructive evaluation under supervision.

The candidate develops technical competency in specialty testing methods, maintains customer service standards, and aligns with ECS Core

Qualifications

2 years of related experience required.
High school diploma or GED required.
Obtain two specialty certifications applicable to the work performed as per the ECS Technician Certification Policy.
General industry OSHA 10 may be required.

Responsibilities

Performs destructive and non-destructive testing on construction materials.
Inspects structural steel, reinforcing steel, and connections (welded and bolted).
Performs field observations and collects samples for testing.
Documents findings in accordance with engineering and inspection standards.
Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
Reports changes in site conditions and additional testing needs.
Performs inspections in fabrication facilities when required.
Prepares and submits daily field reports and documentation.
Performs basic calculations and data reduction tasks.
Maintains and organizes field testing equipment.
Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment.
Attends project meetings as requested.
Performs other specialty testing and inspection duties as assigned.
