Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Baltimore is seeking a Specialty Technician I to perform field-based destructive and non-destructive testing, inspection, and observation activities on construction materials testing projects.

The role focuses on structural steel inspections, welding observations, and non-destructive evaluation (NDE) while working under the direction of more experienced staff, developing competency and upholding ECS Core Values.

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Two specialty certifications applicable to the work performed
• General industry OSHA 10 may be required
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic math and data documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Performs destructive and non-destructive testing on construction materials
• Conducts inspections of structural steel, reinforcing steel, and connections
• Performs field observations and inspections and collects samples for testing
• Documents findings in accordance with engineering and inspection standards
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers
• Reports changes in site conditions and additional testing needs
• Maintains and organizes field testing equipment
• Attends project meetings as requested
