Job summary

ConocoPhillips in Midland, TX is seeking Lease Operators (Multi-Skill Operators) to support field oil and gas production. The role emphasizes independent field work, strong mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn across Barnett, Spraberry, and Wolfcamp targets.

Training and progression are provided in a safety-first environment. Applicants from diverse backgrounds are welcomed; oil and gas experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Current/valid driver’s license.
• 1+ years’ experience in mechanical maintenance, equipment operation, or inspection.
• Able to perform the physical demands and work environment described for this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field operations across assigned wells and facilities, monitoring equipment and production performance to ensure safe, reliable flow and timely response to operational needs.
• Inspect tanks, meters, separators, compressors, and pipelines to identify and prevent leaks or operational issues.
• Gauge tanks to measure crude oil and water levels for safe and efficient transfers.
• Operate and troubleshoot compressors, gas lift wells, sand traps, and flowback equipment.
• Maintain chemical injection rates and execute well start-up/shut-in procedures.
• Enter and validate production data in digital systems to support accurate reporting and decision-making.
• Participate in facility walk-throughs, safety reviews, and regulatory documentation.
• Update piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs) and site security documentation.
• Respond to alarms and fulfill on-call duties to minimize downtime and resolve field issues.
• Apply all safety, environmental, and company policies to protect personnel, assets, and the environment.
