Job summary

AEP is hiring a Field Meter Servicer in San Angelo, TX. You will disconnect and reconnect electrical service, install and service kilowatt-hour and demand meters up to 260 volts, and support AMI equipment tasks with focus on accuracy and safety.

You will read meters, investigate irregular readings, and participate in meter inventory, with overtime rotations as needed. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• One year meter reading or related experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of electricity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Disconnect and reconnect customer electrical service.
• Install, remove, or change meters up to 260 volts.
• Respond to service calls and investigate irregular readings.
• Read meters and maintain inventory of meter stock.
• Assist with storm restoration duties.
• Operate data entry and work management systems.
