American Electric Power (AEP) Texas Company, Inc. is seeking a Meter Servicer to perform disconnects, tests, and installations for single-phase and three-phase meters up to 260 volts, and to support AMI equipment.

Under general supervision, you will read meters, investigate irregular readings, respond to service calls, participate in storm restoration, maintain stock, and comply with safety protocols. A high school diploma and a valid driver\'s license are required; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver\'s license.
• One year meter-reading or related experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic understanding of electricity.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.

Responsabilités

• Disconnect and reconnect electrical service to customers, by removing/installing meters up to 260V (single- or three-phase).
• Remove, install, or change meters when broken, stopped, or operating improperly.
• Bypass meters and/or related equipment when necessary.
• Respond to service calls on installations not exceeding 260V and related AMI equipment.
• Report irregularities and investigate energy diversion and tamper alerts.
• Read, test, inspect, and inventory meters; resolve stock discrepancies.
• Develop knowledge of single-phase metering practices.
• Read billing and non-billing meters as assigned.
• Operate communication equipment and enter data in the work mgmt system.
• Assist in storm restoration activities as requested.
• Perform similar or less skilled work as assigned.
