Job summary

AEP Texas Company, Inc. is hiring an Electrician/Meter Technician to read, install, test, and program self-contained meters up to 240 volts in shop and customer locations.

You will perform related service orders, investigate usage irregularities, and repair meters and enclosures with emphasis on safety and accuracy. The role requires an Associate degree in electrical/electronic technology or equivalent experience, and a valid state driver's license.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical/electronic technology or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on testing, troubleshooting and working with electrical equipment required.
• Experience as Meter Specialist/Technician or similar is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read meters for field orders and cycle billing.
• Install, remove, disconnect, and reconnect meters; test operation and accuracy.
• Program meters and handle meter-related service orders.
• Investigate irregular usage and energy diversion.
• Repair meters, sockets, and enclosures; handle inventory of meters and parts.
