Job summary

AEP Texas Company, Inc. in Pharr, TX is seeking a Meter Servicer to disconnect, reconnect, and install single- and three-phase meters up to 260 volts and related AMI equipment. You will read meters, investigate irregular readings, test meters, and assist with meter inventory and storm restoration as needed.

A valid driver’s license and basic safety practices are required. This role includes overtime and call-out rotations as requested.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
• One year experience in meter reading preferred.
• Basic understanding of electricity and safety practices.
• Good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Disconnect and reconnect electrical service up to 260 volts and install meters.
• Remove, install, or change self-contained meters when needed.
• Respond to service calls and storm restoration tasks.
• Inspect, test, adjust, and program single-phase meters.
• Read billing and non-billing meters and manage meter inventory.
• Operate data entry in the work management system.
