Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year experience with reading, installing, and troubleshooting water meters or related maintenance.
• NC AWWA Meter Services Technician Certification or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Confined Space Certification or ability to attain within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Read water meters and investigate discrepancies or unusual consumption patterns.
• Install, repair, test, and maintain meters 2 inches and below.
• Assist Lead Meter Services Technician with large-meter work as assigned.
• Maintain meter communication devices and troubleshoot related technical issues.
• Coordinate with customers, Billing, Customer Service, and supervisory staff.
• Learn and apply AWWA standards for installing, testing, and repairing meters within 24 months.
