Charlotte County is seeking a Meter Services Specialist to perform fieldwork installing, removing, repairing, and reading water and sewer meters on an assigned route. Work may occur in inclement weather with protective gear.

You will inspect meters, document readings, and assist residents with service needs. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of steady work experience, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
• One year of work experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Knowledge of basic computer software is expected.

Responsabilités

• Installs, re-sets, and connects meters for service; disconnects meters when needed.
• Locates, reads, and records meter readings on paper or electronic devices.
• Examines installations and reports leaks or abnormal usage.
• Cleans meter boxes and performs light maintenance around the service area.
• Handles service orders and responds to customer inquiries.
