Job summary

AEP is seeking a Meter Servicer in Michigan to install, test, and repair single-phase and network meters energised up to 260 volts. You will read meters for billing, perform installs/removals, and ensure meter operation accuracy, while maintaining tools and records.

A valid driver's license and a high school diploma are required, with mandatory training over 24 months. This role involves overtime, weekend shifts, and adherence to safety and company conduct standards as part of a team delivering

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Proficient use of computers and applications related to this classification.
• Excellent communication with employees, customers and the public.
• Willingness to complete training and qualification program within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Read meters according to field orders and cycle billing.
• Install, program, remove, change, disconnect, and reconnect meters.
• Test meters for proper operation and accuracy.
• Perform credit and collections related orders including disconnect/reconnect for non-payment.
• Investigate irregular usage and energy diversion.
• Repair meters, meter sockets, and enclosures.
• Order, receive, ship, and store meters and equipment.
• Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles and work area.
