Job summary

AEP Texas is seeking a Meter Technician to disconnect, reconnect, remove and install single-phase and three-phase kilowatt-hour meters up to 260 volts and related AMI equipment. You will read meters, investigate irregular readings, non-responding AMI components, energy diversion, tamper alerts, and inactive usage, and assist with meter inventory.

Under supervision, you’ll provide support to first responders and Meter Electricians, perform testing, packing, transporting equipment, and take on

Qualifications

• Experience reading meters and working with AMI equipment is preferred.
• Ability to perform testing and basic meter inventory.
• Willingness to overtime and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Read meters and investigate irregular readings.
• Disconnect/reconnect/install meters up to 260V and AMI equipment.
• Assist with meter inventory and equipment transport.
• Support first responders and Meter Electricians as needed.
• Perform overtime or on-call rotations as required.
