American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Meter Servicer to install, test, and maintain electrical meters up to 260 volts in our service area.
You will read meters for cycle billing, perform disconnections/reconnections for non-payment, and keep detailed records. A valid driver's license and a high school diploma are required. Training will be provided, with overtime possible.
Under general supervision install, remove, change, disconnect, and reconnect the Company's singlephase, network, and polyphase self-contained electric meters energized up to 260 volts.

This job requires "recommended" test results from HireVue Meter Servicer Virtual Job Tryout. This assessment is completed online, is untimed, and typically takes about 45 minutes to complete. Please refer to the Employment Test Prep section of our website https://www.aep.com/careers/testprep/.
Within 24 months of employment, successfully complete the Company's training and qualification program for this classification including: classroom instruction; written testing; 560 hours of on the job mentoring; and job performance demonstrations.
Work overtime as needed including extended daily shifts and weekends.
Work late shifts as needed.
Work in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.
Proficiently use computers and applications related to this classification.
Effectively communicate with other employees, customers, and the general public in a courteous and appropriate manner.
Promote a positive image of the Company to customers and the general public.
Comply with all aspects of the AEP Corporate Code of Conduct.
Report hazards, unsatisfactory conditions, irregular conditions, and abnormalities.
Attend and participate in training as assigned and assist in the training of other employees.

Compensation Grade: U022-095
Compensation Range: $21.35 - $28.66
Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
