Job summary

GFT is seeking an MEP Building Assessor to perform on-site condition assessments of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems in large facilities. The role involves visual inspection, documenting deficiencies, and coordinating with other assessors across a nationwide travel schedule.

The position supports an hourly, as-needed model with reviews and reporting handled via SharePoint and mobile data tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ relevant field experience evaluating MEP systems in buildings.
• Ability to identify failure modes and condition indicators for MEP components.
• Strong documentation skills; able to communicate technical findings clearly.
• Willingness to travel nationwide for field assessments.
• Proficiency with field technology, including mobile data collection tools and SharePoint workflows.

Responsibilities

• Visually assess MEP systems cited above.
• Identify deficiencies, performance issues, end-of-life indicators, and operational risks; document findings with notes and photos.
• Coordinate with structural/architectural assessors to provide a complete building-level assessment narrative.
• Use GFT-provided devices and SharePoint-based workflows to collect, organize, upload, and manage field findings.
• Respond to Quality Review comments to streamline final reporting.
