Job summary

GFT is seeking an MEP Building Assessor to perform on-site condition assessments of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems for large Facility Condition Assessment portfolios. Assessments are visual only and will evaluate current condition, remaining useful life, and repair needs with detailed field notes and photos.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' field experience evaluating MEP systems in buildings.
• Ability to identify failure modes and condition indicators for MEP components.
• Strong documentation and clear technical communication.
• Willingness to travel nationwide for field assessments.
• Proficiency with field tech including mobile data collection and SharePoint workflows.

Responsibilities

• Visually assess MEP systems cited above.
• Identify deficiencies, performance issues, end-of-life indicators, and document findings clearly with detailed notes and photos.
• Coordinate with structural/architectural assessors to provide a complete building-level assessment narrative.
• Use of GFT-provided devices, SharePoint, and standardized assessment tools to collect, organize, upload, and manage field findings.
• Respond to Quality Review comments on post-field data entry and submission to streamline final reporting.
