Job summary

GFT is seeking an MEP Building Assessor to perform on-site visual assessments of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems in large portfolios. The role emphasizes documenting observations with notes and photos, and supporting data entry and reporting through fieldwork.

The position follows an hourly, as-needed workforce model with travel across the country. Collaboration with other evaluators and use of mobile data collection tools are essential for accurate narratives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ field experience evaluating mechanical and electrical systems in buildings.
• Ability to identify typical failure modes and condition indicators for MEP components.
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout the country for field assessments.
• Proficiency with field technology and mobile data collection tools.
• Strong documentation skills and clear technical communication.

Responsibilities

• Visually assess MEP systems and identify deficiencies, performance issues, and end-of-life indicators.
• Coordinate with structural/architectural assessors to deliver a complete building-level assessment narrative.
• Use GFT-provided devices and SharePoint workflows to collect, organize, and upload field findings; support QA/QC.
