Job summary

GFT is seeking an MEP Building Assessor to perform on-site condition assessments of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Assessments are visual; you will document condition, remaining life, and repair needs with notes and photos, using mobile data collection tools.

The role supports an hourly, as-needed workforce with potential for future full-time transition depending on project needs and performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of field experience evaluating MEP systems.
• Ability to identify typical failure modes and condition indicators.
• Strong documentation and communication of technical findings.
• Willingness to travel nationwide for field assessments.
• Experience with mobile data collection and SharePoint workflows.
• PE license or equivalent credential preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Visually assess MEP systems and document deficiencies with notes and photos.
• Coordinate with structural/architectural assessors for a complete building-level narrative.
• Use GFT devices and SharePoint to collect, organize, upload, and manage field findings.
• Respond to Quality Review comments to finalize post-field data entry and reporting.
• Participate in travel rotations and adhere to safety and site protocols.
• Travel expenses will be covered per policy.
