Job summary

GFT is seeking an MEP Building Assessor to perform on-site condition assessments of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems for large facility portfolios. Assessments are visual, evaluating condition, remaining life and repair needs, with findings documented via field notes and photos.

The role supports an hourly, as-needed workforce model with travel nationwide; candidates must be able to travel and use mobile data collection tools and SharePoint-based workflows.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of field experience evaluating building MEP systems.
• Ability to identify typical failure modes and condition indicators for MEP components.
• Strong documentation skills and clear communication of findings.
• Willingness to travel nationwide for field assessments.
• Proficiency with field technology and mobile data collection tools.

Responsibilities

• Visually assess MEP systems cited above.
• Identify deficiencies and end-of-life indicators; document with notes and photos.
• Coordinate with structural/architectural assessors for complete building narratives.
• Use GFT devices, SharePoint, and standardized tools to collect and manage field findings.
• Respond to Quality Review comments to streamline final reporting.
• Participate in travel rotations; maintain safety and site protocols.
