Join our Utilization Management team as a Field Medical Director, Cardiovascular Specialist, utilizing your interventional cardiology expertise to ensure high-value, evidence-based case reviews. What You’ll Do

• Provide expert reviews for cardiovascular cases, focusing on invasive/interventional procedures (e.g., cardiac catheterizations, coronary interventions, endovascular procedures, implantable cardiac devices).
• Engage in peer-to-peer discussions with providers to ensure appropriate, high-value care aligned with guidelines.
• Collaborate with leadership and clinical staff in case reviews and decision-making.
• Guide and support Initial Clinical Reviewers, ensuring best practices.
• Provide clinical rationale for standard and expedited appeals.
• Discuss determinations with physicians within regulatory timeframes.
• Use clinical guidelines to ensure consistency, compliance, and quality in reviews.
• Document all communications accurately and timely.
• Participate in ongoing training and quality assurance activities.
• Assist in research activities related to utilization management as needed.
• Potentially serve as Medical Director for specific regions or plans, overseeing utilization management.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/MBBS degree with current, unrestricted license.
• Board certification in Interventional Cardiology or equivalent qualifications.
• Minimum five years of cardiology practice preferred.
• Strong clinical, management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with computers.
• No exclusions or sanctions by healthcare programs or legal actions against medical license.

Technical Requirements

High-speed internet (>10 Mbps) and direct connection to home router required. Requirements may change with office reopenings.
