What You’ll Be Doing

Cardiovascular Utilization Management Reviewer (Interventional Cardiologist)

Use your interventional cardiology expertise in a non-clinical setting to review cases, ensure high-value care, and collaborate with healthcare providers. Enjoy a role that offers flexibility, collaboration, and impact on patient outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Review cardiovascular cases, including invasive/interventional procedures, to assess medical necessity.
• Engage in peer-to-peer discussions with providers for appropriate care.
• Collaborate with leadership to support complex case decisions.
• Guide and support Initial Clinical Reviewers.
• Provide clinical rationale for appeals and communicate determinations within regulatory timeframes.
• Ensure documentation aligns with policies and guidelines such as URAC and NCQA.
• Participate in ongoing training and research activities as needed.
• Potentially serve as Medical Director for specific regions or health plans, overseeing utilization management.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/MBBS with current, unrestricted license.
• Active Board Certification in Interventional Cardiology or equivalent qualifications.
• Minimum five years’ clinical experience in Cardiology preferred.
• Strong communication, management, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with medical systems and technology.
• No exclusions or sanctions from healthcare programs.

Technical Requirements
