This position is reporting to the VP, Head of Medical Affairs and is remote.

This individual will interact closely with company management. A genuine interest and understanding of the science, desire to work in a highly collaborative organization, and deep passion about making a difference in the lives of patients are essential.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Individual responsibilities

  • Supports retina medical communication strategy, planning & execution of these activities
  • This role will provide scientific and medical leadership serving as a key resource to the cross-functional team
  • Lead data generation, data analysis and results interpretation
  • Provides medical support for publications and presentations
  • Reviewing and approving requests for independent research grants
  • Serves on medical review committee for review and approval of promotional, educational and related materials
  • Contributes at medical affairs advisory boards
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with key opinion leaders
Qualifications

Primary skills and knowledge required include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ophthalmology experience
  • Retina experience is a plus
  • Experience working in a cross functional environment
  • Experience with Retina diagnostics and disease
  • Understanding of medical affairs roles and responsibilities for evidence generation and cross collaboration
  • Experience with manuscript publication and conference presentation
  • Self-motivated to work autonomously and must thrive on challenge
  • Ability to anticipate challenges and devise strategies for success
  • Result oriented
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

Level of Education Required:

  • MD/OD (or equivalent)
  • Ophthalmology or Retina-trained is highly desired

Number of Years of Experience in the Function and in the Industry: Minimum 2 years
