Cardiovascular Utilization Management Reviewer (Interventional Cardiologist)

What You’ll Do

• Review cardiovascular cases, especially invasive/interventional procedures, for medical necessity and appropriateness.
• Engage in peer-to-peer discussions with providers.
• Collaborate with leadership and clinical staff on complex cases.
• Guide and support initial clinical reviewers.
• Provide clinical rationale for appeals.
• Communicate determinations with providers within regulatory timeframes.
• Ensure documentation and adherence to guidelines and policies.
• Participate in ongoing training and research activities.
• Potentially serve as Medical Director for specific regions or plans.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/MBBS with current, unrestricted license.
• Board certification in Interventional Cardiology or equivalent qualifications.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in cardiology preferred.
• Strong clinical, management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers.
• No current exclusions or sanctions.

Technical Requirements

High-speed internet (>10 Mbps) and direct connection capability required at home. These requirements may change with office reopenings.
