Job description

ROLE SUMMARY:

You will provide therapeutic area/product expertise for the Thoracic Oncology Team across a broad range of Medical customer segments and initiatives in territory (New England).

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Plan and execute Medical strategy and engagement for appropriate assigned customers within a territory, compliantly coordinating with other Pfizer colleagues as needed to achieve Medical objectives.
  2. Maintain required knowledge of relevant TA/disease states and Pfizer medicines, providing therapeutic area/product information to both internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  3. Serve as a conduit and resource for Medical Information and customer insights, providing requested information to HCPs as allowed by Pfizer guidance and sharing customer viewpoints with Pfizer as appropriate.
  4. Understand the priorities of Pfizer Medical Affairs to contribute to Medical content strategy development and execute aligned Field Medical tactics.
  5. Maintain effective communication and collaboration among headquarters Medical colleagues, Medical Information, and other Pfizer Field Medical colleagues.
  6. Demonstrate expertise in communication across multiple channels, including live and virtual presentations, written communication, and virtual conversations.
  7. Optimize patient centricity of Medical communications and deliverables, incorporating Health Literacy and cultural awareness principles.
  8. Deliver approved medical content about Pfizer medicines and relevant topics in the designated therapeutic area.
  9. Identify and seek medical engagement from priority customer segments in the Therapeutic Area.
  10. Provide truthful, accurate, and scientifically supported information in response to unsolicited medical requests from HCPs, complying with Pfizer guidelines.
  11. Lead advisory boards (BRF, Vendor) with manager oversight.
  12. Field relevant inbound queries from HCPs via established triage process.
  13. Partner with Oncology R&D and GPD in identifying sites for Pfizer-sponsored clinical trials, including under-represented populations.
  14. Provide Medical support throughout the Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR) process.
  15. Cultivate research and therapeutic area expertise, including familiarity with latest congress data and literature.
  16. Provide Asset leadership.
  17. Understand principles of study design, data analysis, and interpretation; communicate these to customers.
  18. Exhibit strong territory leadership.
  19. Communicate with Patient Advocacy Groups, providing insights on structure, capabilities, and patient needs.
  20. Serve on cross-functional committees and represent Pfizer Medical Affairs in professional associations, demonstrating professionalism.
  21. Mentor onboarding partners, ad board, and study leads.
  22. Participate in special projects as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Health Science required.
  • PharmD, PhD, or equivalent terminal degree preferred.
  • Relevant experience: PharmD/PhD with 6+ years, MBA/MSc with 8+ years, BA/BSc with 10+ years.
  • Recognized subject matter expert.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and conflict management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with SOPs, regulations, and external standards.
  • Previous Field Medical experience.
