What You’ll Be Doing

As a Cardiovascular Utilization Management Reviewer (Interventional Cardiologist), you will leverage your expertise in interventional cardiology to review cases, ensure high-value care, and collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes in a non-clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Review cardiovascular cases, including invasive/interventional procedures, for medical necessity and appropriateness.
• Engage in peer-to-peer discussions with providers to ensure high-quality, guideline-aligned care.
• Collaborate with leadership and clinical staff on complex cases.
• Support initial clinical reviews and provide clinical rationale for appeals.
• Document communications accurately and timely.
• Participate in ongoing training and quality assurance activities.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/MBBS degree with current, unrestricted medical license.
• Board certification in Interventional Cardiology or equivalent qualifications.
• Minimum five years of cardiology practice preferred.
• Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with computers.
• No current exclusions or sanctions by health programs or legal actions against medical licensure.

Technical Requirements

High-speed internet (>10 Mbps) and direct connection to home router are required. These requirements may change with office re-openings.
