Job summary

Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) is seeking a Junior Mechanical Technician for field-based maintenance across pumps, valves, engines, and related equipment. You will perform routine and unscheduled maintenance, keep detailed records, and support safe operations in open environments with exposure to heat, cold, and chemicals.

Requirements include a high school diploma and entry into a related trades apprenticeship, with strong English reading/writing skills and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Starting or completed 1st year of a trades apprenticeship.
• Ability to read facility drawings and manuals.
• Must speak/read English and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance/repairs on pumps, valves, engines, motors, and mixers.
• Maintain records and monitor wear trends; use CMMS.
• Perform lockouts/tagouts on facilities.
• Follow vendor guidelines for preventive maintenance of bearings, seals, gear lubrication, etc.
• Inspect and service piping, process equipment, and control panels.
