Job summary

SA Recycling LLC in Montebello, CA seeks a Diesel Mechanic to travel between yards and repair stationary and mobile equipment. You will diagnose issues, repair engines, hydraulic systems, and brakes, and conduct torque cutting and welding as needed.

The role requires ability to operate the company truck, maintain tidy workspaces, and comply with safety and environmental policies. Prior diesel/mechanical experience and basic math skills are advantageous.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Diesel Mechanic training or certification preferred
• Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus
• Must pass medical physical and drug test
• Must pass background check
• Diesel mechanic or hydraulic repair experience preferred
• Forklift experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Drive company mechanic truck to various yards in a given region
• Trouble shoot problems with machinery
• Repair engines, engine-cooling systems, drivetrain parts, brake systems, and basic electrical parts
• Remove and replace parts of hydraulic systems and tool attachments (shears, forks, grapples)
• Remove and repair some body parts, ladders, platforms, catwalks, and engine covers
• Perform limited torch cutting and welding
• Clean up work area at the end of shift
• Keep work areas neat and orderly
• Organizing materials to have more effective use of space
• Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner
• Inspection to ensure cleanup is completed
• Effective housekeeping in workplace area is an ongoing operation for safety and better hygienic conditions for all team members.
