Job summary

SA Recycling seeks a skilled Equipment/Truck Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair heavy mobile equipment across brands. You will work on forklifts, bobcats, loaders, material handlers, and trucks in a scrapyard setting, performing electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical diagnostics and repairs.

The role requires strong problem-solving abilities, device safety discipline, and the ability to work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Mobile Equipment mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems is essential.
• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
• Individual equipment repair certifications can be beneficial

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair fuel, electrical, mechanical, brake, cooling and hydraulic systems on a wide range of heavy mobile equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and preventive tasks per manufacturer and SA Recycling guidelines.
• Replace worn parts and disassemble/assemble major components like powertrains.
• Overhaul and test engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems for efficiency.
• Maintain accurate service records and schedule future maintenance.
• Order and manage spare parts inventory and keep the work area safe and clean.
