Job summary

Froehling & Robertson, Inc. is seeking a CMT Technician to inspect contractor work at construction sites and perform basic field soil and concrete tests under supervision. Data is entered on smartphones/tablets for rapid transmission to project managers.

You will travel to job sites supporting safety and quality control, with opportunities for career progression through Technician I–Sr. Technician levels. A valid license and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• Prior construction or field testing experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Must be able to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, manuals.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Performing field materials testing of soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete.
• Preparing detailed field reports with test results and observations.
• Performing laboratory tests on soil and concrete and reporting results.
• Evaluating site conditions and providing field recommendations.
• Communicating with clients, contractors, and staff on construction issues.
