Job summary

Froehling & Robertson, Inc. is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician to travel to construction sites and perform field soil and concrete tests under supervision. You will input data on smartphones/tablets for immediate transmission to Project Managers.

The role requires a high school diploma, ability to lift up to 70 pounds, valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites. On-site testing, reporting, and teamwork are key aspects of the position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior construction or field testing experience preferred.
• ACI Level I/State DOT/WACEL/ICC certifications are a plus.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds and work on feet all day.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform field materials testing of soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete.
• Prepare detailed field reports with test results and observations.
• Perform laboratory tests on soil and concrete and report results.
• Evaluate site and subgrade conditions and provide recommendations.
• Communicate with clients, contractors and staff on construction issues.
