Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Field Material Controller for Advanced Manufacturing in Saint Francisville, LA. You will manage field material control transactions for major capital equipment and materials under supervision and approved procedures.

You will learn material control concepts, support shipment releases, MRRS/MIRs/OS&Ds, and maintain documentation while coordinating with project teams to minimize risks and ensure task completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, construction, supply chain, operations management, or equivalent project experience.
• 2–5 years of experience in capital equipment material control is preferred.
• 2+ years of hands-on site experience within complex, large-scale construction environments.
• OSHA 10-hour Construction Certificate. OSHA 30 preferred.
• Experience in Advanced Manufacturing projects is ideal.
• Experience using MS Office tools, including intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills.
• 2+ years of experience using Materials Management software and/or Enterprise Purchasing Systems, including inventory control and procurement processes (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Smart Materials).
• An expressed interest in pursuing a career in Construction Management or Procurement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Saint Francisville, LA.

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of material control processes, procedures, and tools.
• Utilize established policies, procedures, systems, and tools.
• Review Shipment Release Request related supplier documentation and ensure shipment authorizations are approved per PO terms and material control plan.
• Advise stakeholders how to create and initiate shipment releases and understand the shipment authorization process.
• Administer MRRs, MIRs and OS&Ds.
• Maintain a register of Materials requiring preservation activities.
• Evaluate facts around material control problems and apply remedies.
• Maintain material control documentation in a repository.
• Identify and advise management of material control risks.
• Coordinate OS&D resolution.
• Work under close supervision with no direct reports.
• Coordinate with project or departmental personnel in material control activities.
