Job summary

Roche Holding AG is seeking a Field Engineering Specialist – Mass Spectrometry in Washington. You will service, repair, calibrate, and install cobas i601 systems across customer laboratories within your territory.

The role demands hands-on maintenance of MS hardware, knowledge of LC-MS/MS, HPLC/UHPLC, and strong collaboration with sales and engineering teams. Travel and after-hours support are required.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing or servicing complex mechanical/system hardware and software.
• Ability to travel including overnight stays.
• Training or certification as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy.
• Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Deliver regional field engineering support for cobas i601 systems and automation.
• Maintain mass spectrometry hardware including UHV pumps and ion sources.
• Perform preventive maintenance and component replacements to optimize MS performance.
• Diagnose mechanical, electronic, software, and gas/fluidic failures using diagnostic data.
• Provide applications and workflow guidance to customers and operators.
• Collaborate with national engineers on high-complexity accounts and escalations.
• Maintain customer relationships and service documentation; participate in on-call rotations.
