Job summary

GLIDE, a nationally recognized center for social justice, seeks a Field Manager for the Cecil Williams Ambassador program in San Francisco. You will lead a dynamic team, engage housed and unhoused residents, businesses, and city staff to provide information, access to services, low-threshold case management, and GLIDE representation as a model brand ambassador.

The Field Manager ensures safety, cleanliness, and access to shelter, food, medical care, and other supports, while maintaining strong

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification preferred or to be completed within 60 days of hire.
• Experience in community outreach, social services, public safety, or related fields is preferred.
• Knowledge of the Tenderloin district, its resources and challenges.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with diverse populations and de-escalation ability.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the Ambassador team and ensure compliance with program requirements.
• Maintain high performance and data collection standards across teams.
• Monitor street activity and coordinate with city agencies and partners.
• Schedule and deploy Street Ambassadors to key locations and times; cover shifts as needed.
• Provide dispatch, training, and quality assurance for case management and referrals.
• Engage with residents, businesses, landlords, and stakeholders to promote GLIDE services.
• Represent the program at meetings and events to advocate for the Tenderloin community.
• Coordinate training like CPR, first aid, Narcan, and cultural competency.
• Maintain accurate records and report per KPIs and GLIDE training.
