The City of Saint Charles Human Resources Department is recruiting for a full-time Field Maintenance Worker within the Public Works Street Division. The role involves maintaining and repairing public infrastructure such as roadways, storm and sanitary sewer systems, and supporting snow and ice removal operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, load/unload, drive, and operate construction vehicles and equipment including hand and power tools, excavators, backhoes, loaders, street sweepers, dump trucks, snowplows, etc.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on signs, roads, and sidewalks.
• Follow safety standards and procedures.
• Perform duties related to Street Maintenance, Sewer Maintenance, and Water Distribution.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedules, overtime, emergency responses, and special events.
• Respond to public inquiries and complaints.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D.; Associate degree preferred.
• At least two years’ experience in construction, maintenance, repair, or similar, or equivalent education and experience.
• Valid Missouri driver’s license.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with air brakes and tanker endorsements.
• Department of Transportation Medical Examiner's Certification.
