Job summary

Loram Maintenance of Way, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator 1 to operate, inspect, and maintain Loram’s on-track equipment in a field setting. The role requires safety leadership, accurate reporting, and adherence to on-track procedures. Experience with Loram gear, and a valid driver’s license are preferred.

The position involves 100% travel, heavy equipment knowledge, and the ability to document daily field activities and expenses. Starting pay ranges with industry standards are provided.

Qualifications

• 3+ months Loram equipment experience in a 24/7 environment.
• 2+ years demonstrated mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and machine operation skills.
• Valid driver’s license; railroad safety certs preferred or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety briefings during shifts, maintenance, and tasks.
• Follow safe work processes and explain on-track safety specifics.
• Locate and demonstrate correct operation of emergency equipment.
• Inspect machines, identify problems, and report to supervision.
• Record parts used and perform maintenance per schedule.
• Complete daily field and expense reports and related admin tasks.
