Job summary

Loram Maintenance of Way, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator 1 for field-based work operating, maintaining, and repairing Loram railway maintenance equipment.

You may operate on-track MOW gear and vehicles, with supervision, across various platforms as needed. Internal candidates require 3+ months on Loram equipment in a 24/7 environment; external candidates need 2+ years of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic expertise and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ months experience working with Loram equipment or equivalent in a 24/7 environment.
• 2+ years demonstrated mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and machine operations experience.
• Pre-employment physical, DOT/medical assessments, and background checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety briefings during operations and maintenance shifts.
• Perform machine inspections, identify defects, and report conditions.
• Record parts used and assist maintenance decisions with accurate feedback.
• Document daily field reports and related administrative records.
