Job summary

Blue Grass Energy in Kentucky seeks an experienced Line Technician to perform construction, maintenance and operation of energized and de-energized lines. The role requires skilled switching, fusing and installation of transformers, with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

The ideal candidate has five years of line experience, a valid CDL, and training in pole top and bucket rescue. On-call duties and safety compliance are core to the position.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Five years of line technician experience or equivalent.
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) required.
• Pole top and bucket rescue certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs construction, operations and maintenance of energized or de-energized lines.
• Performs conversions, switching and fusing.
• Installs transformers, regulator equipment and boosters with minimal supervision.
• Observes safety measures and provides first aid when needed.
• Reports hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Cuts right of way and trims trees as required.
• Attends safety meetings and may supervise in Crew Chief's absence.
• Handles service requests during on-call and completes outage reports.
• Responds to major events as needed.
• Maintains tools and equipment.
