Job summary

Blue Grass Energy Cooperative Corporation is looking for a skilled Line Technician to perform construction, operations, and maintenance on energized or de-energized lines. The role includes switching, fusing, transformer installation, and safety compliance, with on-call duties and occasional supervision in the Crew Chief's absence.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, five years of line experience or completion of a Line Technician training program, and valid CDL with pole

Qualifications

• Reads and follows operations and safety manuals.
• Communicates with crew and supervisor effectively.
• Completes reports and paperwork accurately.
• Maintains climbing certification and CDL.
• Respects safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Constructs, operates and maintains energized or de-energized lines.
• Performs switching, fusing and transformer work.
• Installs and maintains transformers, breakers and regulators.
• Maintains tools and equipment; operates line devices efficiently.
• Responds to service calls and on-call outages; completes outage reports.
• Trains others and supervises when Crew Chief is absent.
• Maintains pole lines and clear rights of way.
• Drives vehicle and adheres to EKP dispatch procedures.
• Keeps up with SCADA feeds and circuit diagrams.
