Job summary

Utility Lines Construction Services is seeking a Lighting Technician C to install and maintain streetlights and related equipment from aerial devices, ladders, and ground operations. This entry-level role involves working safely on job sites and communicating with the public.

You will gain hands-on experience with heavy equipment, climb structures, and support higher-level technicians in lighting construction and maintenance, while adhering to safety protocols and company policies.

Qualifications

• Be able to provide proof of work experience, schooling and any certifications obtained during your career.
• Must have knowledge of heavy equipment.
• Ability to problem-solve with unidentified circumstances on any job.
• Must have knowledge of working with energized high voltage systems requiring specific skill set.
• Must be able to climb different structures and possess the tools to do the climb.
• Must be able to identify, operate and service all required tools and equipment (e.g., bucket truck, digger derrick truck, tensioners, puller, rollers, hand tamp, chain saw, concrete saw, shovel).

Responsibilities

• Clears work area and maintains safe jobsite conditions.
• Excavates to assist in installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.
• Will have contact with public and private property owners to communicate work to be performed.
• Exposed to traffic and may require flagging certification.
• Work on elevated surfaces.
• Any other duties related to the installation of lighting power supply.
• Assist a higher-level technician in lighting construction and maintenance.
• Safely work on voltage 600 volts or less with minimal oversight.
• All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors.
