Job summary

NiSource Inc. seeks an Area Field Leader for Electric Operations to guide a team of employees and contractors across Transmission & Distribution. You will ensure safe, reliable service and act as a field presence to direct work and training, while supporting emergency response and continuous improvement.

The role requires strong leadership, safety focus, and effective collaboration with internal and external teams. A valid driver's license and rotating standby shifts are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to quickly assess emergencies and make sound decisions.
• Strong safety and compliance knowledge.
• Motivate stakeholders with varying priorities to achieve goals.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Ability to coach and develop employees.
• Familiarity with ITOA, OMS, NIMS, Salesforce and GIS.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and coaching to front-line workers.
• Oversee safety and compliance in field operations.
• Lead development and training of staff.
• Manage field work plans and budgets under supervision.
• Respond to emergencies using standard incident command structures.
• Rotate standby and shift work as required.
