Job summary

NiSource Inc. is seeking a Field Leader in Forestry Operations to lead a team of contracted crews delivering Electric and Gas vegetation management programs.

You will oversee annual work plans, budgets, safety, and customer service while coordinating with project managers, engineering, and field operations to ensure timely completion of tasks. You will manage on-call crews, supervise contractor performance, and drive continuous improvement, including compliance with environmental and regulatory

Qualifications

• 4+ years expert knowledge of utility forestry processes and procedures
• Progressive responsibility in forestry/vegetation management
• Knowledge of federal/state regulations and permits
• Strong budgeting and scheduling abilities
• Strong safety and contractor management skills
• Driver's license valid

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee annual Work Plans for vegetation management
• Manage contracted workforce and outages coordination
• Coach field crews on safety and BMPs; ensure compliance
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and contractors
• Respond to emergencies and support storm operations
• Ensure regulatory compliance and documentation duties
