Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Field Coordinator/Construction Manager to oversee major water and wastewater infrastructure renewal projects. The role focuses on observing contractor work, ensuring compliance, and managing project documentation and coordination between Owner and Contractor.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in construction administration, with strong communication and leadership skills, and can guide Field Coordinators on mid-sized projects.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Water/wastewater infrastructure construction experience may substitute for degree.
• Experience mentoring younger inspection staff.
• 10+ years of general construction administration/observation experience, preferably in water/wastewater facilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with project participants.

Responsibilities

• Observe and manage contractor work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Review on-site construction work for conformity with contract drawings and specs.
• Facilitate coordination between Owner and Contractor to protect Owner operations.
• Assist with construction administration docs: RFIs, RFCs, field orders, claims, submittals, schedule reviews, meetings, payment applications.
• Supervise and train Field Coordinators and coordinate small to mid-sized projects or portions of larger ones.
